Beach Clean

LHR Storm 03Talking of cleaning, and going back somewhat to the earlier article about the heavy rainfall, the debris is finally being cleared from the beach.
It was first thought that the Town Hall would be arranging the collection and disposal of the debris left on the beach following the heavy rainfall, but it is now Costas who have taken charge of the clean up and are using a pubic company (Egmasa), to carry out the work. You may well have seen their workmen on the beach, who rake the sand (or stones), and wheelbarrow the debris to several points at the top of the beach. It is then picked up by truck and disposed of.
Convergence Andaluza (CA) have been pushing for improvements in the cleanliness of beaches and riverbeds in the region to prevent such ‘spills’ in the future, and the ideas, such as more government inspections of the rivers and more money for beach cleaning, have a lot of support.
Let’s wait and see what the rivers have to throw at us next year… I was rather hoping for some gold nuggets, instead of the usual farm debris and the odd dead goat.
