Last night, the Dana swept across southern Spain, causing significant disruption along the Costa Tropical, particularly in the municipalities of Almuñécar, Salobreña, and Motril.
We might not have had much rain over the weekend on the Costa Tropical, but there’ has been in Almería, resulting in our beaches strewn with debris.
Almuñécar has been busy tidying the beaches for Semana Santa, clearing away all the debris that the rivers have brought down.
Volunteers in Salobreña have been giving a lesson in civic spirit by selflessly using the spare time to clear debris from the beaches.
It took two months to sort out, but at last traffic started to move between Punta de la Mona and La Herradura along the beach road. Shortly after 11am one morning the barriers were removed and traffic, once again, started to flow on this important local route connecting the Punta to the main village.
Talking of cleaning, and going back somewhat to the earlier article about the heavy rainfall, the debris is finally being cleared from the beach.
