Now, here’s a lovely thing! A distinguishing characteristic of Brits everywhere is their attitude towards animals. “Ahhhhh!” we say. So the seemingly thoughtless abandonment of domestic animals here has always been the topic of much tut-tutting.
Well, back in February, two English ladies – Jo James and Linda Ranes started a new organization named, “Paws for Thought”, to do something about it.
They rescue, neuter (with the support of local Vets) and re-home feral cats and their offspring, along with stray dogs.
These ladies work tirelessly, with a car boot sale in Motril twice a month, plus other fund-raising events – the latest of which was an excellent dinner at Al Asador, which raised €310! Donations or items for the boot sale are welcome and needed.
