At last this well kept secret is out of the bag and the Asador El Quebracho, with its Argentinian meat specialities, is well on the map in Motril. Opened in December 2003 to the delight of those living in the town, Esteban Arturo Giunti has created a restaurant with a great ambience, delicious food and sumptuous wines from Spain and Argentina. There are plenty of interesting starters, spaghetti dishes, salads, meats on the hot stone and meats cooked over a wood fire and the pricing is excellent. The wine list is well worth a look with wines from Spain but also with a special selection of Argentinian wines from the Mendoza and San Juan regions. Perhaps a Malbec grape or Syrah, Cabinet Sauvignon … or how about that Merlot? Why not pop into the bar and have a selection of freshly cooked tapas? The restaurant can be found at Calle Pablo Picaso Nº 6 in the centre of Motril and you should find plenty of street parking nearby.
