Shopkeepers will pay 10% less for their rubbish collection service. The Town Hall says that it hopes that this measure will help the sector weather the crisis. This is the result of a meeting between the Councillor Olga García and representatives of the Asociación de Comerciantes de la Villa (ACESA).
According to the Councillor for the Economy and Hacienda, Juan de Dios Márquez, each and every ‘comerciante’ (trader/dealer/merchant), regardless of whether they belong to the association or not, can enjoy a 10% discount off their rubbish collection tax.
To be able to obtain this discount, you have to submit a written petition to the Town Hall before the 15th of December.
“With this move our intention is to make weathering the financial crisis easier for the business sector of Salobreña and to serve as a stimulant for the economy,” said Sr. Márquez, adding, “this means a huge financial effort by the Town Hall and joins the existing 60% rate for pensioners.”
