Have you decided that now is the time to get out and meet new people; see a bit more of Spain? Then the International Club of Salobreña could be just for you! A friendly group that meet throughout the year on Wednesdays for either social meetings at the Hotel Salobreña or to enjoy a variety of cultural, sporting and historical activities in and around the area.
Members are a mix of ex-pats from countries including the UK, Holland, Belgium, Australia, America, Poland and (not forgetting) our host country, Spain. Some live here full time and others commute back and forth.
You can join the group for their first meeting after the summer break on Wednesday, 9th September at 11am at Hotel Salobreña. Just look for the group of people having a coffee and a chat! (There are also signs pointing the way)
In the past year, Club activities have included visits to a nearby spa, local artisan workshops and the Charca de Suárez bird sanctuary; guided walks in the surrounding towns/countryside; and talks by members, local business people and renowned authors, among other things.
Upcoming activities include day coach trips to Baeza/Ubeda, the ‘Over 50’s Show’ in Estepona, Gibraltar, Antequera and Ronda, with a weeklong trip to Morocco planned for March 2010!
And, although the Club’s name says ‘of Salobreña’, membership spreads throughout the Costa Tropical from the Lecrín Valley/Alpujarra to the sea and from Motril to La Herradura, so you’re sure to find someone from where you live! Subscriptions for the year are only €10 per person.
