Imagine the surprise you’d get if you found yourself giving birth to a set of baby twins when, after you’d pushed out the second and were thinking it was all over, a third little nipper showed up on the radar! Well this is exactly what happened to local couple Salvador Rivera and María Rosario Sánchez last month, much to the surprise of everyone at the Santa Ana Motril hospital.
Not once throughout the seven and a half month pregnancy did doctors spot the third little’un crouched behind one of his siblings. Proud father Salvador claims he thought the doctors were pulling his leg when they told him. But sure enough three babies were born and all in good health, however the young couple, who already have a four year old daughter, now have an extra three little mouths to feed, one more than they’d budgeted for! After making a plea for financial help Salobreña council decided to step in and presented the couple with a cheque for 1.500 euros. Awww!.
