The PSOE claims that there is a new drive to implement yet more Blue-Zone areas in Almuñécar. Their party leader, Francisco Prados, suggests that it is little more than another push rake in more money for the municipal coffers.
This time the targeted area, claims Sr. Prados, is the street that runs down past the Majuelo Park (Avenida de Europa). Mind you, this is not the first time that the opposition has claimed that this street would be turned into a Blue Zone, but on the previous occasion nothing came of it.
Sr. Prados heavily criticises the Mayor for extending the Blue Zones outside the commercial areas of town. He further claims that it is the Mayor’s intention to extend the B.Z.’s to cover around 90% of Almuñécar.
