The Town Hall has provided a course to train 15 chefs, accepting candidates from the town’s unemployed.
The Councillor for Employment, Daniel Barbero, said that as well as receiving a ‘small financial remuneration’ during five months, they will be learning a trade to compete in the hostelry trade, “something that is very necessary in this time of economic crisis,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to criticise the Delegate for Employment for the Junta de Andalucía, for rejecting the project for courses offered by Almuñécar, to train waiters, hotel cleaning staff and receptionists. Sr. Barbero claims that such a course would have provided a small income for many unemployed… and free workers for the local hotels, he could have added.
