The strong wave action and undertow could have claimed the lives of bathers on Torrenueva-Costa beaches yesterday but a human chain managed to pull them out.
It was a busy Sunday for lifeguards on Torrox beaches as six bathers had to be pulled out of the turbulent sea, after they ignored the red-flag warning.
This weekend, probably for the last time this summer, beaches had to be closed owing to having reached their maximum capacity under present restrictions.
