The Almuñécar Town Hall has begun to remove beached illegal boats from its beaches; i.e., those that display no registration markings and show signs of having been abandoned.

The Asociación de Madres y Padres de Alumnos (AMPA) at the IES Puerta del Mar in Almuñécar are now happy bunnies. The reason? Because the school will soon be providing high-school education after operating as a junior secondary school since it opened seven years ago.
Sand Regeneration for Cotobro

It appears to be a yearly event; Cotobro beach, which gets washed away by spring and autumn gales, is in the process of being topped back up again, with sand grabbed from the Puerta del Mar beach, near the Paseo del Altillo.
Embellished Beaches

If you walk out to the furthest reaches of the Puerta del Mar beach – in front of the Eroski supermarket – you will have to cover 200 metres before reaching the water. This extensive area of beach is thanks to the parallel breakwater, and in only a few years!
