Motril Fishermen Uneasy

When the Motril fishermen spotted a ship belonging to the gas-prospecting company, Chinook, making its way repeatedly between Nerja and Adra, they feared the worse, so they were soon hammering on the Mayor’s door.

Clipper Sailing Ship Arrives

The Royal Clipper sailing ship, which is the largest sailing ship in the world, is making a one-day visit to Motril Port today, arriving in the morning and leaving early afternoon. This majestic ship has a length of 134 metres and mounts five masts, but if you miss it, don’t worry because you can catch another sailing ship from the same cruise line tomorrow.

The Manifesto

There was no political colour behind the meeting at the offices of Aecost in Motril: everybody present had one purpose in mind; protect and promote Costa Tropical.

The business sector, workers unions, farmers – you name it – one by one they put their names to a document that has now been passed on to every town hall on the coast for signatures of their mayors, as well.

Cruises Begin

Let the cruise begin! April saw the official start of the cruise season for Motril with the arrival of Funchal, a Portuguese liner. 250 passengers were on board and of those, 80 made the trip to Granada or Nerja and the other 170 visited Motril.
