On the last weekend of February, vandals broke into the Parque Fuente de la Villa in Salobreña, forcing the fence, before breaking the padlocks on the animal cages.

An Alsatian dog attacked two women out walking a dog in the industrial estate area of Vélez-Málaga. One woman had her hand badly bitten whilst the other had to be treated for shock after her dog was killed. Both women were treated at the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía.
