Inter Spanish Courses

Just before Christmas I stopped off at Inter, the language school, just opposite Plaza Mayor in Almuñécar, and Jimmy, who runs this brilliant school told me about their courses and work ethic.
They pride themselves on having highly qualified teachers, using a communicative approach to all lessons, which are always conducted in a friendly atmosphere.

Super Sheng!

It has been noted that I am rather partial to a bit of Asian cuisine. So I was looking forward to my first meal at Sheng in Almuñécar, who serve specialities from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and China.
The restaurant is in C/Larache on the corner of Edif. Alhambra, and boasts a very stylish layout, with friendly staff and beautifully presented tables.

WW Success Story

Here’s a good news story from Nicola at WeightWatchers:
Fiona was delighted when she discovered WeightWatchers on the Costa Tropical. She told me she had been unhappy with her weight for a couple of years and knew she needed some help to do something about it.

Los Laureles

There’s always the feeling that the party’s over once we get into January. Well, with that in mind, Mark at the brilliant Los Laureles has decided to make the first month of 2010 a bit more interesting, especially on those quiet evenings when you’re sitting at home and wondering what to do with yourself.

When You’re Little by Ella Umley

It’s strange how when you’re young you see the world as a completely innocent place; where your mum and dad are your best friends, Father Christmas fills your stocking and the tooth fairy leaves money under your pillow.

Hideaway News

The lovely Jenette at The Hideaway told me they are having a Quiz Night on the 14th of this month, with teams of four, buffet, prizes and even a raffle. But make sure you register your team in advance!

Counting the Blessings

Whatever is covered later on in the Almuñécar section, it is probably a good idea to take a stock check of what we have. You see, it doesn’t matter whether you came here 40, 30, 20, 10, or just 5 years ago – Almuñécar is still very much a privileged place to live in.

Senegalese Party

We went along to the Senegalese party, which was held in the marquee on Plaza de Kuwait on the 11th of December. It was packed. There was live music – some of the ethnic instruments used were amazing! There were also stalls selling all kinds of Senegalese handicraft; everything from paintings, carved figures and traditional clothing to samples of Senegalese sweetmeats etc.
