The Nerja Branch of the Royal British Legion hold regular social meetings at the Hotel Al Andalus in Maro and at the Peña Parda restaurant on the beach at La Herradura. We also run or take part in other fund-raising events.

CAS (The Costa Animal Society) has a weekly stall at the Sunday Market in Almuñécar. All the funds made at this market go to help the abandoned animals in the area.

Change of RNA Monthly-Meeting Venue

The venue for the next meeting has changed. It is now at the Rincon de Velilla , Paseo de Velilla some 500 mtrs east from the Argentine Steak House, towards Taramay.
Nordic Viewpoint

I would guess that more than 1000 people, mostly seniors, from the Nordic countries spend from 2-8 months in Almuñécar every year, enjoying the tropical climate, healthy food, good wine and friendly atmosphere that the town has to offer.
Poppy Appeal Final Count

The Nerja Branch of the Royal British Legion has now finished counting the contents of 45 poppy, collection boxes that have been in place in various bars and restaurants in and around Nerja. The amount raised is in excess of €2,000.
CAS November Press Release

Over the past decade, animal lovers in Comares have endured a continual stream of poisonings in the town. An estimated 200 cats and dogs have died painful deaths in that time after eating contaminated meat deliberately left out in the street.
