The Antequera-based Guardia Civil arrested two individuals, allegedly belonging to a gang based in the province of Granada, suspected of holding up parked lorries in autovía rest areas.

They targeted service stations on the A-92M autovía in Málaga (specifically Villanueva del Trabuco and Villanueva del Rosario), but also operated across other areas in Andalucía.
Consequently, they face charges, including multiply counts of robbery with violence/intimidation, and one road-safety offence.
Interestingly, the thieves use delivery vans, using fake logos of a well-known, express-delivery company, to make their appearance less suspicious, whilst they broke locks to steal cargo.
If they were interrupted by the driver of the lorry, they responded with physical violence, threatening victims with bladed weapons.
The Police investigation, named Operation Van-Truck, has concluded its initial phase, and both suspects have been handed over to the Court of Archidona.
