A 40-year-old motorcyclist died yesterday morning, after crashing into an olive tree while riding cross-country near the town of Loja.

The rider, whose body was found by a local police patrol from Huétor Tájar, was originally from and lived in Priego de Córdoba, and he was the father of a young child.

The police from this nearby town had received a call from a local resident who saidht the bike belonging to the victim was partially hidden by a fallen branch of the tree that he had hit.

The said bike was an Enduro, which is designed for off-road, and it is believed that the rider had lost control of the machine, swerving off the track that he was follwing and crashed into the tree. He is well known in his home town and known for competing in scrambling.

Lastly, the victim was reportedly not riding alone but was with a group of Enduro enthusiasts, but it appears that they hadn’t realised that he had crashed and had continued on, so it was somebody out walking who raised the alarm instead.
