Today is going to be Día sin Ruido (A day without noise), during which the fairground attractions won’t have any music blaring out.

But before you break out the farting cushions & party hats, this blissful silence is only going to last from 19.00h to 21.00h… You know, before anybody actually bothers going to the fair in the evening.
Why this generous donation of sonic appeasement? Well, the Town Council says that it is so that people with “auditive sensibilities” (i.e., most human beings when it comes to high-decibel music & explosions) can enjoy it.
And then right through to the simulated aerial attack on Kiev, a.k.a., the end-of-fiestas firework display, those hearing-sensitive humans and pets can expect to wish for a merciful lobotomy.
Every year, people who care for those with autism, as well as pet owners in general, beg the Town Council to replace the firework display with a drone-display accompanied by music, which can equally enthral spectators, instead of trying to dislodge the Lord’s angels from their heavenly perch with 850 kilos of gunpowder.
So, this 2-hour respite is all that the Town Hall can come up with, bless their explosive cotton socks!
