A man in his mid-40s lost his life on road between Jete and Otivar on Sunday, according to the emergency coordination centre, 112.

The accident involving a quad and a motorbike occurred around 16.15h, near kilometre point 52, which is just south of the entrance into Jete – between the village and the long straight stretch were everybody does their overtaking.

The emergency centre despatched an air ambulance helicopter, as well as the Guardia Civil traffic police, as well as a road-maintenance crew.

The man on the quad was an Otívar local in his mid 50s whilst there were two motorbikes racing eachnother coming in the opposite direction (Almuñécar). It was one bike rider, aged 44, who lost his life.
