An Alternative Dog Beach?

The far-left political party, Izquierda Unida in Almuñécar want a better beach facility for dogs and taking the proposal to a Plenary Meeting of the Town Council. Unfortunately, it would be after we went to print so no idea how it went.

Now there is a beach dedicated to the use of dog owners, which is Playa 21, and lies between Playa de San Cristóbal and Playa de Cotobro (between Edificio Épsilon and Edificio Los Ramos). It does look like a rubble dump but dogs aren’t going to complain about that.

“We did manage to open the first dog beach, which was a first step, yet clearly insufficient” said party Secretary, Arturo González, adding, “The experience and how it is used has shown us that its location can be improved a lot to better the safety for dogs and their owners.”

What the party is proposing is the creation of a working group or panel discussion to deal with this public demand and find different locations with easy access, and to study what can be done to the existing playa canina to improve it.
