Put a rubbish hopper on a rural lane and before long, you start finding dumped fridges, mattresses and furniture, which is why the Salobreña Town Hall has given up keeping them next to the municipal cemetery.

The Councillor who manages municipal street cleaning and rubbish collection, Luis Cano, explained precisely that; they have removed the three rubbish hoppers for the above given reason.
The municipal rubbish-collection service not only took the hoppers away, but also cleared up all dumped domestic items and carted them off the the Punto Límpio.
Salobreña not only has the Punto Límpo where they handle old furniture, electronic goods and all sorts of odds & sods, but there are also seven Puntos Límpios Móviles (bloody great containers for that sort of rubbish) which are shuffled around the municipality. At each of these locations it arrives at 09.30h and it removed at 13.30h
On Mondays, these mobile collection points are next to the dog-park near Casa Roja; Tuesdays near the Municipal Market; Wednesdays near Colegio Segalvina between Avenida de Peronne and Calle Nicaragua; Thursdays in Urbanización Salobreña Playa and lastly, on Fridays it will be available for the use of residents of Urbanizacíon de las laderas, Urbanizacíon los Alminares, Urbanizacíon Alfamar and Urbanizacíon Pargo.
For larger items such as furniture, your mother-in-law, etc, you must phone 958 392 907 and they will come and collect it from your house.
