Around midday on Thursday, the body of a person appeared off Playa de Cambriles in Castell de Ferro.

The Guardia Civil sent a patrol to the beach, which took charge of the situation and arranged for permission to remove the body and for it to be taken for identification and an autopsy.

This find comes just days after a body was found floating off a beach within the municipality of Almuñécar, which was first reported to have been in La Herradura Bay but it later turned out to be off Cotobro, just across from Marina del Este.

Given the state of advanced decomposition it was impossible to identify that body.
