The Montemar Canine Centre in Salobreña organised a free workshop on dog training last weekend.
The event, which took place during Saturday and Sunday was open to anyone whether they own a pet or not. It began at ten in the morning on both days with the main aim of providing practical guidelines for improving having a pet (dog) at home and guaranteeing its welfare.

The Head trainer at the centre, Antonio Rodríguez, explained that the event was fruit of collaboration with the Concejalía de Bienestar Animal at the Town Hall.
One on the subjects covered at the workshops was an introduction to early training and the proper emotional stimulation for puppies.
It also covered adult dogs adopted from shelters, as well as appropriate techniques to correct unwanted behaviours such as hyperactivity, excessive barking, or episodes of aggression.

In Almuñecar they need proper owner training to teach them to clean up after their pets. I have never seen more disgusting sidewalks in any town. Dog poop everywhere, building corners, and any vertical surface stained with dog pee, and people stepping on it all the time. Gross!!
