The Salobreña Town Council has launched a new scheme for healthy walks for residents over 55, aiming to encourage active aging and combat loneliness.
The initiative, led by the Senior Citizens Department, offers weekly walks every Tuesday at 19:30h setting off from Plaza Juan Carlos I.

The first walk will take place on May 19th and will cover the route between the town centre and Lobres; a stroll through the town’s natural surroundings.
The Town Council pointed out that the programme is all about encouraging healthy habits through moderate exercise and creating opportunities for people to socialise and get to know knew people.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and trainers or walking footware, and bring water to drink during the walk.
No prior registration is required; those interested can join just by turning up at the meeting point before everybody sets off.
