The IV Feria Sexitana del Libro will take place this Saturday the 18th on Plaza Marruecos, with the theme of El Gran Circo de Las Letras (The Great Literature Circus).

If you’re not sure where the Plaza Maurruecos is, it’s the one that used to be the Bonsai Park at the top of the main drag into Almuñécar.

The idea behind the theme is to turn the square into a circus-style venue where literature meets the performing arts, explained the Councillor for Culture, Alberto Manuel García Gilabert.

A big-top atmosphere is intended to connect the ‘magic of the circus’ with the ‘wonder of reading,’ with such activities as The School Literary Contest awards, Meet-the-Author sessions, and the Artemisa show (circus, music, and theater).

As for entertainment for kiddies, there will be Interactive storytelling narrated by Mr. Toad (El Señor Sapo).

The event has been organised by the Town Hall in conjunction with the Jesús Serrano Garijo Municipal Library and local booksellers.
