Casa Grande Changes Hands

The property transfer for the ownership of the Casa Grande to Salobreña Town Hall has concluded.

The property, which is near the Old-Town-Hall Square at the top of town belonged to the parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

It has been a lengthy process, which began in January 2025 and involved a swap with a 1,310 sq/m municipal plot within the Plan Parcial Playa. This publicly owned plot was exchanged for the Casa Grande, situated at Nº21 Calle Real.

The Parish Church now intends to build a religious building on the beach plot for “collective worship.”

Regarding Casa Grande, the Mayor of Salobreña, Javier Ortega, explained that the goal is make it into a multi-functional location for both cultural activities and public services.

The swap also provided the Town Hall with a second property on Calle Brocal, which the Town Hall intends to turn into a small square as a viewing area (mirador).
