A man allegedly attacked his son-in-law with a hammer, leaving him seriously injured, before taking his own life.
This took place on Tuesday night in Almuñécar. The emergency coordination centre received a call around 21.30h, reporting a heated argument between relatives in a dwelling on Avenida Costa del Sol.

A 65-year-old man allegedly hit his 30-year-old son repeatedly on the head with a hammer. The victim was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril with severe head injuries.
The aggressor fled the scene, running into a the vega lying between the said street and the San Cristóbal beach road (Sandoval), which is where he committed suicide.
Officers from both the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local found his body and tried CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Procedure) including the use of a portable defibrillator, but to no avail.
An ambulance soon arrived and the paramedics carried on for another 40 minutes to revive the man but also had no luck.
