There was yet another vega fire in Salobreña on Saturday afternoon, which given the frequency of these incidents, few consider are accidental.

According to the Councillor for Citizen Safety, the fire destroyed just under 10,000 sq/m of vegetation, most likely chiefly wild cane that abounds down there and is often used as field borders.

It began around 15:30h behind La Fuente I and beside the Vial Verde Playa. The Policía Local and Fire Department were called out. The latter supplied four firefighters and one light fire vehcile, backed by a few personnel from Infoca with another light, fire truck.

It was dealt with rapidly, preventing it from spreading and nobody was hurt nor dwellings affected.
