Motril Town Council has announced they're starting tax collections for 2026, beginning with the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax (IVTM).

Locals can pay this tax during the voluntary period until May the 4th, after that there will be a surcharge. Further failure to pay up will find you waking up with a severed horse’s head on your pillow… just joking!

In addition to the vehicle tax, this first period includes:
Driveway (Vados) Fees
Reserved Space Fees
Municipal Market Fees (first quarter)

Key Payment Details
Direct Debits: For those with standing orders scheduled, the payment will be processed on March the 27th.

Payment Methods:
Payments can be made using the Carta-Recibo which are sent by post to people’s homes, or online through the Motril E-Office (Sede Electrónica).

However, If the notification does not arrive via the post, you can obtain a copy by visiting the Tax Management Service Offices at Plaza de la Libertad No. 3 (bringing you TIE card).
