The body of a British man in his late 70s, who had gone missing in Nerja a week ago, was found yesterday around midday near the Urbanización Ladera del Mar area, on the muncipal border with Torrox.
The victim 79-year old victim, Lain Stanley, had been living in Nerja with his wife for a few months on Avenida Antonio Ferrandis ‘Chanquete‘ in the centre of Nerja.

Guardia Civil officers and medical personnel were sent to the scene and in preliminary visual inspection found no external signs of violence and the police consider that it could have been a natural death. An autopsy, however, will determine the exact cause of death.
Since his disappearance on Wednesday the 11th there had been a large-scale search operation. His wife reported him missing on Thursday 12th after he failed to return home. He was last seen on day he left home around 14.00h near Hotel Perla Marina.
It appears that Mr Stanley had not been suffering any known disorientating or debilitating illnesses and had left both his mobile phone and passport at home. Not having his phone on him, complicated efforts to locate him as well as his being unable to phone for help if he found himself in difficulties.
During the search, a taxi driver came forward to say that he had dropped him off in Torrox on Friday but a search of that area brought no results.
