The Guardia Civil investigated three people in Priego de Córdoba, aged 35, 36 and 55, accused of swindling an elderly, disabled man.

According to the Guardia Civil press release, they had received a complaint at their Priego de Córdoba offices, saying that back in June a man had had his bankcard stolen, together with his pin code and the thieves had made multiple purchases with it to a combined value of 11,000 euros.

The three men, relatives of the victim, had allegedly persuaded him to move to Málaga where they managed to obtain his card and pin.

Examining footage from the bank’s CCTV where the suspects reportedly used the card, they were able to identify the three individuals, all, as mentioned above, relatives of the victim.

The police-investigation findings on the crime have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor to bring before a judge.
