Jetskis are a nuisance enough on Costa Tropical without them running up onto the beach narrowly missing beachgoers.
This occured on the 14th on a beach in Mijas and was caught on camera. See the video below.

The user had fired up the engine whilst standing, fallen off the back as it lurched forwards, just metres from the beach, and watched the machine ride up onto the shore, missing people lying on the beach by a question of centimetres.
Amazingly, nobody was hurt, but God knows what the man was thinking by starting the jetski up, pointing inland just some 15 metres from the beach.
Bereft of his aquatic steed, he tried to quit the scene as bathers gathered around him angrily protesting at his stupidity. He was saved by the lifeguards and the Policía Local from a verbal lynching, at the very least.
He was arrested by the Policía Local who handed him over to the Guardia Civil to be charged with the reckless handling of the a craft in a crowded area.

Reader’s comment: (Original in Dutch) “I think the residents and owners of all the apartments on the coast’s first line and along the boulevard wouldn’t shed a tear if these nature-disrupting, noisy (now even with radios) monsters were banned here on the coast.
Or they would be forced to move much further out to sea, so that the people in the apartments and those on the beach could also enjoy some peace and quiet.
I truly don’t begrudge anyone their enjoyment, but does this really have to happen when other people have been annoyed by the nuisance for ages? In my opinion, drivers are all about having fun and enjoying the speed. Can’t this be done in a coastal area where there are no homes or beachgoers?” – Juan
