A driver, upon noticing a police presence, accelerated and fled down the A-365 road in Campillos. This led to a high-speed chase.
During the chase the driver reached 180 kph, which is double the 90 kph speed limit on this road. He also reckless invaded the oncoming lane forcing other drivers to swerve onto the hard-shoulder to avoid collisions.
Why did he speed off? Not only because he had no valid driving licence, but also he had been found guilty of driving without one of seven previous occasions.
This time round the court sentenced him to 18 months in prison for reckless driving and driving without a licence, taking into account his multiple, previous convictions. The Provincial Court of Málaga upheld this sentence, which was initially issued by Criminal Court No. 4 of Málaga.
According to the police record, these events began around 20.25h on December the 14th, 2021, when the suspect was behind the wheel of an Opel Astra.
