They're certainly having little luck in Carchuna because the beach was shut down again owing to the reappearance of bacteria from human faeces.
Carchuna & Calahonda First Councillor, Juan Alberto Ferrer, said, “It was precisely on the day that we registered a complaint before Seprona (environmental police) that we received the news that had been instructed to close the beach between the Castillo and la Patana,” adding, ” We believe that these happenings are not a sporadic thing.”

First Councillor Ferrer says that the Town Hall has done all possible to find out where this was coming from as it is hitting the tourist season hard. He said that they were very unhappy with the situation.
He asked residents and visitors to respect the restrictons: “I ask you all to obey the instructions given by the lifeguards and to refrain from bathing within the marked-out areas until Monday at least.”
When they were allowed to reopen the beach the last time, Councillor Ferrer said that they were opening the beaches without knowing where the contamination was coming from.
