The Asociación músico cultural José Pareja Serrano, in collaboration with the Town Hall, is organising its eighth musical event in Salobreña.

The event, entitled, Dando La Nota, literally means, ‘playing the note’ but it can also mean, ‘making a spectacle of yourself’ in Spanish slang. Either way, it will take place on Saturday, the 5th of July at 21.30h at the Anfiteatro Nilo Cruz.

The Banda de Música de Salobreña, which is conducted by Jorge García Quirantes, will offer a performance in which the magic of renowned Magician, Miguel, two-time World Card Magic Champion, will be accompanied by a careful selection of tunes, such as the theme songs from Rocky, Harry Potter, The Pink Panther, and a lively Mambo will be played while the magician displays his repertoire of tricks and humour.

Jorge García Quirantes says that this is a “unique show in the area; one that will leave the audience speechless.” He highlights the combination of two artistic expressions: music and magic.

Councillor for Culture, Maribel Ruiz Aguilar, considers it a great chance to see the village band in action providing the musical backing for a performance by a world-class magician from Granada. What a great way to kick off the month of July, she considers.

Tickets are now on sale in advance for eight euros at Cafetería Picasso, Cafetería Viena, and Restaurante Le Petit Bistro. They can also be purchased online through Giglon. At the box office, the price will be 10 euros and can be purchased half an hour before the show begins.
