Torrox Town Hall has hired Provita Sociedad Cooperativa Madrileña to provide lifeguard service for its beaches, signing a deal worth 502.000 euros.

This service wil be provided from the 15th of June to the 15th of September, throughout the week, from 11.00h to 21.00h, so try not to get into difficulty in the water before 11 in the morning, folks.

This year there will be two new additions that the service will provide; two drones and a dog lifeguard during weekends! As for the two drones, one will be involved in rescues and the other for controlling the beaches; i.e., making sure the jet skis keep their distance from swimmers, for example.

Another service is also that offered to people with mobility issues, using an amphibious chair to get them into and out of the water.

The lifeguards also have two jet skis for rescuing swimmer, permitting them to reach somebody in trouble in the water very quickly. Lastly, Torrox has a lifeguard tower on eight of its beaches.
