Locals from Linares in the province of Jaén are complaining that they are being attacked by birds along one of the streets in the town.

The name of the street is La Cruz, between the Colegio de los Salesianos and the Fuente del Pisar. Along this part of the street birds are reportedly swooping down upon pedestrians.

“It’s true that they attacked my wife yesterday and me, twice along this street; it’s really strange,” said one local on Facebook. “Nothing like this had ever happened to me until the other day, said another.

Linares Town Hall has made no comment about this supposed situation for the moment, so it is not known exactly what is happening or what kind of birds are involved.

What is likely to be the case, is that it is just a couple of birds (the male and female) defending their nest from perceived threats.

So, by the sounds of it, this is no Hitchcock’ The Birds...
