On the 12th of last month there was a road accident near Iznalloz when a car with three people onboard ploughed head on into an articulated lorry transporting farm animals.

The fire service was needed to cut the wreckage open to retrieve the three victims, two of whom had died in the act: a father, Domingo Cano Gálvez and 17-year-old daughter, Ángela Cano Carrasco.

The third person was the wife and mother of the two other victims. She had been seriously injured and was rushed to the ICU at the Hospital de Neurotraumatología in Granada.

And there the 46-year-old woman remained, fighting for her life until yesterday, when she finally succumbed to her injuries, thus joining her husband and daughter in death.

These two funerals, one shortly after the accident and the other on Monday the 31st, have rocked the northern town of Iznalloz with its 5,000-odd inhabitants, not far from the provincial border with Jaén.
