The Mayor presented La Herradura's San José fiestas agenda at a press call. The fiestas in honour of the village's patron saint will run from the 14th to the 19th of March.
The official poster for the fiestas was designed by a local woman, Elena Ramírez, which received praise from Mayor Juanjo Ruiz Joya.
So without further ado, here is the cultural agenda for the village fete:
Friday the 14th.
10:00h: San José 2025 Paddle Tennis Tournament. Organised by Las Palomas Paddle-Tennis Club.
10:30h: XVI Virana Children’s Writing Competition, entitled, Tribute to my grandparents”
Diego Martínez Auditorium, Centro Cívico. Healthy breakfast in the Pepe Gámez Exhibition Hall. Organized by Coral bookstore. Collaborator: Friends of La Herradura Association.
20:30h: Inaugural parade of the patron saint festivities. From the Centro Cívico, along Paseo Andrés Segovia to the fair area.
21:00h: Inauguration of the fair and switching on of the fiesta lights, next to the entrance portico.
23:00h: Popular Festival. Official festival bar in the Plaza de la Independencia. Live music by the the Al Alba Orchestra and then DJ Oscar Martínez.
Saturday the 15th.
08:00h: Fishing Competition organised by the Costa Tropical Fishing Association. Prizes for the winners and the biggest fish. At the end there will be a BBQ in front of Playa del Carbón
10:00h: Tennis Tournament organised by Antonio Valero. Las Palomas Club.
11:00h: Family bike ride. Departure from the meeting point of the Cycling Association, at the entrance portico of the fair. Organised by the La Herradura Cycling Association.
11:30h: The fun begins with the Charanga GranaMusic through the streets of La Herradura until reaching the Castle.
12:30h: Opening of the Fería del Día with DJ Spiry at La Herradura Castle. A bus service will be available from 13:00h to 19:00 p.m. It will run every 15 minutes from the bus stop (in front of the beach roundabout) to La Herradura Castle.
17:30h: Ping Pong tournament organised by Antonio Valero. Las Palomas Club.
18:00h: Moto School Málaga motorcycle exhibition with the Herradura riders JuanPS#6 and AngelaPS#21 who will participate in the Spanish FIM MINI GP championship and the Andalusian mini championship.
18:00h: Veterans football match between the La Herradura and Castell de Ferro teams. In honour of Ernesto Barbero Torres. Las Tejas Stadium, La Herradura.
19:00h: Children’s cinema in the Diego Martínez auditorium of the Centro Cívico. Free entrance until full capacity.
23:00: Popular Festival. Official festival bar in the Plaza de la Independencia. Live music by Orquesta Tentación and then canned music with DJ Felipe.
Sunday the 16th
10:00h: 7-a-side football tournament for the Pre Benjamín, Benjamín and Alevín categories. The local clubs of La Herradura and Almuñécar will participate.
11:00h First experience in Jábega (open fishboat with oars) for children and adults from the Daní´s launching ramp. Organised by the rowing club, Piratas de Calaiza with a healthy breakfast.
11:30h: 3rd Walk Against Cancer, registration in the Plaza del Mercado. Route: departure from the Plaza del Mercado to Peña Parda and la Caleta. Return to the Municipal Market. Registrations 5€ in favour of the AECC. All participants will receive a gift bag.
13:00h: Feria de Día with DJ Spiry at the La Herradura Castle.
A bus service will be available from 13:00h to 19:00h. It will leave, every 15 minutes, from the bus stop (in front of the beach roundabout) to the La Herradura Castle.
17:30h: Horseback ribbon race, organised by the La Herradura Equestrian Club. On the Carbón beach in La Herradura.
20:00: Performance by Bahía Flamenca. With the dance director Geno Rodríguez accompanied by Pablo Escudero. In the Diego Martínez Auditorium, Civic Centre.
23:00h: Los Yakis in concert. Official festival bar, in the Plaza de la Independencia.
01:30h: Popular Festival. Official fiesta bar in the Plaza de la Independencia, with live music from Al Alba Orchestra and then DJ Charli Ro.
Monday the 17th
10:00: End of the San José 2025 paddle tennis tournament. Organised by the Las Palomas Paddle Tennis Club.
12:00h: Pickleball tournament, organised by Antonio Valero. Las Palomas Club.
13:00: Feria de Día with DJ Spiry at La Herradura Castle.

18:00h: Socializing with our elders. Snack at the Official Festival Bar, in the Plaza de la Independencia. Tickets can be collected at the Centro Cívico in La Herradura.
19:30h: María de La Colina in concert. Official Festival Bar, in the Plaza de la Independencia.
01:30h: Popular Festival. Official fiesta bar in the Plaza de la Independencia, with live music from Al Alba Orchestra and then DJ Charli Ro.
Tuesday the 18th
11:30h: Children’s games and cucañas (climbing a slippery pole), Parchís (Ludo), bowling, snakes & ladders, etc… Plaza above the Civic Centre.
13:00h: Feria de Día with DJ Spiry at La Herradura Castle.
A bus service will be available from 13:00h to 19:00h. It will leave every 15 minutes from the bus stop (in front of the roundabout).
6:30 a.m. Traditional ribbon race on Calle Real. Accompanied by the Charanga “GranaMusic” and giants and bigheads. Categories: cadet and adults. 1st Prize: A Serrano ham, donated by the Association of Friends of La Herradura.
18.00h: Floral Offering. Departure from the Centro Cívio. Collaboration: Association of women Siglo XXI and the Cosas Nuestras choir. We invite all attendees to participate wearing their flamenco dresses.
19:00h: Holy Mass in the Church of San José accompanied by the cCosas Nuestras choir.
19:00h: Martial arts exhibition in the Plaza del Centro Cívico. Organised by the Municipal school Kosho Ryu Kempo, founded in 1982 by the master Manuel Maya, 9 times Spanish Champion.
22:00h: Gran Fireworks display provided by Pirotecnia Zaragozana.
23:00h: Siempre Así in concert. Official Festival Bar in the Plaza de la Independencia.
01:30h: Popular Festival. Official Festival Bar. Plaza de la Independencia. Live music by the Orquestra La Tentación.
Wednesday. Children’s Day
09:00h: Bell ringing in the Church of San José, on the occasion of the day of our Patron Saint.
12:30h: Holy Mass in honour of San José. Musical accompaniment by the Coral Bahía de La Herradura. Directed by Algis Zaboras.
13:00h: Concert in the Plaza de la Iglesia de San José, offered by the Municipal Music Band of Almuñécar.
13:30h: Gathering with a popular paella in the Official Festivities Bar in the Plaza de la Independencia. Live music by Show Ancoda.
20:00h: Solemn Procession in Honour of Patron San José. Accompanied by the Musical Group Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. (Loli Barbero Orellana will recite a poem to our patron Saint Joseph)
