A man in his mid 70s was knocked over and killed on a zebra crossing by a large cement lorry on Thursday morning.

The 75-year-old man was seriously injured. The incident occurred in Mijas in the province of Málaga around 09.30h on the 6th along the Camino de Coín, which is in the centre of Mijas.

Given the injuries sustained by the victim, he was evacuated by helicopter to the general hospital in the city of Málaga.

At the moment no information has been issued as to the identity or nationality of the man.
