The Guardia Civil have opened an investigation into the appearance of a drug-running RIB left beached in Salobreña.

Beach strollers reported its presence around 12.00h on Saturday the 28th on Playa de La Guardia.

The Servicio Marítimo de la Guardia Civil towed the RIB or zodiac to Motril Port to be examined thoroughly for clues as to the drug-runners behind it.

The Guardia Civil press release did not mention whether drug packages were found onboard the 10-metre long RIB with its two powerful, outboard motors.

Back in March, exactly the same thing occurred on Playa de Los Yesos (in the municipality of Sorvilán)
which was two metres longer and had three outboards.
