A car went up in flames this morning on the A-7 where it passes through the municipality of Salobreña.

The car was traveling westward in the direction of Almuñécar when it caught fire near kilometre point 905 around 08.20h; i.e., climbing up towards the Salobreña/Almuñécar-border tunnel.

The emergency coordination centre, 112, despatched the Motril fire service, the Guardia Civil traffic police and a road-maintenance crew.

The Fire Department confirmed that the fire was soon extinguished and that nobody had been hurt in the incident.
