There was a blaze in the municipal vehicle pound in Torrox, damaging around seven cars on Wednesday night.

The said vehicle pound, belonging to the Torrox Town Hall, is situated next to Río Güi on the Vélez-Málaga municipal border.

It was just before 23.00h that the Emergency Coordination Centre, 112, received reports on the fire, which accordingly despatched the provincial fire service (Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos) the Guardia Civil and Policía Local.

The fire service reported that seven vehicles were affected, five of which were totally gutted and two partially damaged by fire.

All of the vehicles kept there were ones that had been towed away for parking offences, amongst other reasons.
