Restaurants in the Lecrín Valley are participating in the Jornadas Gastronómicas Valle de Lecrín – La Huella Mozárabe.

This event started on the 22nd but will continue until the 1st of December, so there are still plenty of opportunities to try out these Mozárabe dishes.

The event is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía through its Board of Tourism, Culture and Sports and it was presented at the Hotel/Vineyard, Hacienda Señorío de Nevada on the 15th of November.

Virtually 800 years of Islamic culture in Spain has left its indelible mark in place names, Spanish vocabulary and its cuisine, which uses fruits, spices and vegetables, giving that sweet/savoury mixture for the palate.

All told, 13 restaurants are participating in this 10th edition of the gastronomic event, offering historic and modern dishes with such ingredients as citrus fruits, vegetables, olive oil, wine, spices, nuts, honey, meats and sweets.

Las Albercas de Cónchar (Villamena)

Los Naranjos (Melegís)

Taberna Pimientos (Nigüelas/municipal market)

Señorío de Nevada (Cónchar)

Bar Leo (Béznar).

There will also be space dedicated to local products from Orovalle (Pinos del Valle) Aceites Navarro García (Nigüelas) Señorío de Nevada Wines (Cónchar) Almendras Alhambra (Dúrcal) Alquería de los Lentos (Nigüelas) Danielitos (Cónchar) Jamonzar (Dúrcal); Peñagallo (Dúrcal) and Artisan Products Jose Nievas (Padul).
