The IV Feria del Jamón y Productos Típicos de Trevélez promises an unforgettable gastronomic and cultural weekend.
The fair will take place on November 23 and 24, establishing itself as a prominent event in the gastronomic and cultural landscape of the region.

This fair, held in the highest municipality in Spain, will showcase a variety of local products, with serrano ham as the undeniable star.
The delegate for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Fernando Egea, along with the mayor of Trevélez, Adrián Gallegos, presented the program of activities, which includes not only the exhibition of gastronomic products from the region but also guided tours, musical activities, hiking, and entertainment for children, as well as the presence of expert ham carvers.
Sr. Egea highlighted that this event will attract a large number of tourists, emphasising the importance of strengthening the agri-food industry and revitalising the tourism sector, with the aim of reactivating local commerce and supporting restaurants and the accommodation sector in the area.
Mayor Gallegos emphasised that the weekend of the fair is among the busiest of the year, with many visitors arriving drawn by the gastronomy and much more. Over these two days, the centre of Trevélez will transform into a lively market where local producers will showcase their goods. Attendees will be able to taste not only the famous ham with Protected Designation of Origin but also cured meats, artisanal cheeses, local wines, and other typical products from the Alpujarra.
In addition to the culinary feast, the fair will provide an insight into traditional methods of ham production and curing. Master ham makers will conduct live demonstrations, sharing their techniques with the public.
The fair also pays tribute to the culture and traditions of the Alpujarra, featuring performances of folk music and dance, as well as craft workshops, making the event a great day out for the whole family.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the picturesque village of Trevélez, located at over 1,400 meters above sea level, enjoying breath-taking views of the Sierra Nevada. “This fair promises to be a delight for the senses and an immersion into the authenticity and hospitality of one of the highest villages in Spain,” said Mayor Gallegos.
The fair will start this coming Saturday at 11:00am and conclude on Sunday at 6:00pm, featuring a performance by Solera Flamenca and Encuentros de Charangas.
