The Central Government says that the first phase to connect Rules Reservoir to the coast (Desglosado 9) should be finished during June this 2026.

The Central Government offered this information as an answer to a question put forward by the main opposition party, the PP, in Parliament.

The project was approved in December 2021 with a budget of 57.47-million euros with a completion date of June 2026.

The whole project of getting the water to where it is needed comes in 11 separate desglosados (sections). The whole idea of connecting the dam to Valle Río Verde for example, was to cut down on electricity, pumping water up out of the ground and thereby also restoring the depleted water table.
