Salobreña Car Thief Caught

A man in his mid 30s is under investigation by the Guardia Civil, suspected of being behind cases of theft from inside cars.

The theft took place in the early hours of the 15th of last month after the 36-year-old man allegedly gained entrance to a car parked on Avenida de Ítrabo without forcing an entry.

He reportedly removed a bankcard and several lottery tickets, as well as car, spare parts valued at 700 euros.

The car owner reported the theft later on that morning at the Guardia Civil post in Salobreña. The police began their investigations and soon discovered that the thief of the missing items had tried to use the bankcard in small businesses in Molvízar the following day but without success .

Having obtained a description of the suspect from these establishments, they realised that the suspect was a well known bad lad from Molvízar.

However, learning that the police were on to him, he went into hiding, although the police were finally able to arrest him several days later.
