A man let off a smoke canister (some reports suggest gas) in a tram carriage near the Dílar stop on the Granada-city metro system.
Whilst the passengers started to feel a dizziness and dyspnoea (breathing difficulties) the culprit fled at the next train stop.

The carriage was emptied of passengers at the Armilla stop and thoroughly ventilated.
The incident took place around 14.40h on Wednesday. One eyewitness recalls how people started shouting, coughing and edging towards the sides of the carriage.
As nobody knew what was happening, panic set in and passengers started shouting for the driver to stop and let them off, but they were unable to do so until they reached the Dílar stop a couple of minutes later.
The culprit wore a yellow sweat shirt and had got on at the Carmenes football-ground stop.
