The Guardia Civil rescued a young man from the Netherlands on Friday within the municipality of Instán.

The hiker had become lost in a high-ground area of difficult accessibility and contacted 112 for help.

The Guardia Civil, mountain-rescue service sent in a team based in Álora and a Guardia Civil rescue helicopter based in Granada.

They found him in a step-sided barranco and flew him to safety.
