The Councillors of Urban Planning and Public Works & Maintenance, together with the municipal engineer, have visited the asphalting works on Ibiza Street.
Now, if you’re scratching your head wondering where that is, it is a street in Taramay on the headland above the beaches of Cabria and Curumbico. In other words it’s up above Restaurante Tito Yayo and Restaurante Casa Antonio.
The councillors said that this work would be finished in a couple of days and would include, mains water, electricity and sewage being laid beneath the street.
Councillor García says that the work would cover 2,000 sq/m of street surface. He also pointed out that as the street has a downward slope they have had to put a pump system at the bottom end facing the sea.
Municipal Engineer, Juan José Fernández, explained that the said pumping system is ‘telematised’ which means that it’s controlled from a distance. It will push fluids along a 110mm-diameter polyethylene pipe to connect Ibiza Street with Formentera Street and from there, by gravity, to the connection with the general network.

So Frank. Where does the used house water and sewerage from Panorama go ?
Is it like so many large villages. Just dumped ? In this day and age. That’s truly wrong. Rather then spend cash on roads. Sort out the sewage issue.
Frank: Many thanks for the info and we will gladly publish any informatiion that we receive from both the Town Hall and resident associations for urbanizaciones.
To be even clearer on the local geography: on the eastern side of Taramay, above the Cabria and Curumbico beaches, lies the area of Curumbico which has all of its streets named after Balearic and Canary Islands, Calle Ibiza being one of them. Curumbico itself is divided into two urbanisations: Loma on the western side and Panorama on the eastern side. Loma is now fully equipped with water and sewage. Panorama still has no facilities at all. However, an active community of residents there is working towards changing that. Maybe, in a couple of years, the Seaside Gazette will be able to report on similar works to those in Calle Ibiza going on in Calles Mallorca, Fuerteventura and Las Palmas together with an appropriate photograph of the relevant Councillors on the eastern front of Curumbico.
